Keyword Research has been advocated as one of the most important activities to be undertaken before starting with your Adsense campaign. Keyword research involves looking out for high paying keywords which do not have a lot of competition. Some times publishers decide the topic of their site on the basis of such keyword research lists. Although not the recommended method to increase Adsense earnings, but still it is indeed very important.

Another important aspect about keyword research is "Keyword Density". Google would penalize a site which has a very high density of such keywords. It is regarded as an unhealthy webmaster technique and webmasters are highly recommended to avoid such techniques.
